It began with the dryest February ever
in 1999 and with 800 people praying together for rain.
Or maybe it goes back farther
than that ... to 1996 when the annual rainfall average for the
Big Country began its decline.
One thing is certain: it continues
with prayers for showers
of blessing, restrictions
on lawn-watering, short-term solutions and long-term planning.
The personal, economic, social
and long-term ramifications of the most recent drought are investigated
in interviews, stories and photographs.
The question on everyone's
mind, of course, is:
When will it end?
